97,xxx Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone, 96% Original Lacquer, Fresh Overhaul
1962 97,xxx Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone with approximately 96% original lacquer. Here is an incredibly preserved 5-digit Mark VI that was produced in one of the very best years of Mark VI production. The horn has been well cared for and there is no evidence of major repairs. The neck is original to the horn and has a matching serial number. It has never been bent down. The sax comes in its original case.
The sax just received a top of the line overhaul from Eric Beach. His work is incredible, and he uses premium parts including Pisoni Pro pads. He used original screw-in plastic Selmer resonators, which is what this sax originally came with. However, the resonators are slightly oversized, which is a pretty great combination. The sax still has the warmth from the plastic resos, but there's some extra sizzle and projection. The result is excellent, and we plan on setting up more horns like this in the future. The sax plays with ease from top to bottom, and the action feels crisp and tight, like a new horn.
