How to sell your saxophone See the tenors in stock1962 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, s/n 97575. Here is a stunning Mark VI tenor that just came back from an extensive replating and overhaul from my tech. It arrived with silver plating that was faded in many areas. After consulting with my tech, we decided that to preserve the horn's life and enhance its looks that a fresh silver plating was in order. We got a creative with this one, giving it a look similar to a vintage Conn. The body of the sax was bead blasted, giving it a matte finish, while the keys and engraving kept a high shine. The contrast is subtle but stunning to see in person.
After the horn was replated, it received a full mechanical overhaul. The sax has Pisoni Pro pads and nylon resonators, similar to what this vintage originally came with. The sax comes in a vintage Selmer case which is in excellent condition.
This is a wonderful playing Mark VI tenor. The silver plating gives this horn a dark, lush sound that stays consistent and even through all dynamic registers and dynamics. It has a laid back mellow vibe to it that is very pleasing to the ear.
