Couf Superba II Soprano Saxophone

Regular price $ 2,200

1975 H. Couf Superba II soprano saxophone, s/n 75367. H. Couf Superba saxophones were made in West Germany by Julius Keilwerth, and the Superba II soprano is essentially a vintage Keilwerth soprano made for the American market under the H. Couf name. This saxophone was previously owned by a former member of the Glenn Miller Orchestra.

The sax is in great condition overall, with its original lacquer still intact. The pads are on the older side, but they're currently sealing well. I can play the horn easily throughout its entire range.

This is a great playing soprano with a surprisingly big, rich sound. It has more body and depth than I associate with many modern soprano saxophones, while still being responsive and easy to play. The sax comes in its original case.
