Ernie Northway 7 tenor saxophone mouthpiece, s/n M385A9. These are handmade mouthpieces that despite their appearance play remarkably well. This mouthpiece has a bright, foward sound that is freeblowing and efficient.
I've seen several other Ernie Northway mouthpeices over the years and they are all similar in appearance. But if you look at this one closely, you'll see rough filing and sandpaper marks inside the chamber and along the middle of the table. The rails and tip are all precise and clean, which is what allows the mouthpiece to pay so well. If you're a fan of a high baffle, colorful and assertive mouthpiece, this is one to seriously consider.
The facing is original and the tip opening measures .100".
