Ishimori Woodstone Tenor Saxophone, Near Mint Condition, Unlacquered Finish
Ishimori Wood Stone tenor saxophone. This horn is about one year old, and is in perfect playing and cosmetic condition. It was owned by a local saxophonist who plays in of one of the military jazz bands here in Washington DC. He has one too many saxophones and realized that this one wasn't getting enough playing time, so has decided to sell it.
Take a close look at the fine details, and you'll see that a ton of care and consideration has gone into making and designing this horn. The level of detail is extraordinary. Even the case is well designed, with Walt Johnson style fasteners and a beautiful leather handle to pick up the case from the top.
Sonically, this is a very nice horn. It's a bit mellower than an 82Z and somewhat similar to an SBA but with a bit more power. The response is incredibly even from top to bottom. I think that it deserves to be in the same class as the top three sax makers. The number of notable saxophonists playing this horn despite its overall lack of availability here in the US speaks to its quality as a great horn. We will be hearing about this brand for years to come.
