Keilwerth SX90II Soprano Saxophone, Just Serviced
Keilwerth SX90II soprano saxophone, s/n 104230. This sax was previously owned by a former member of The United States Army Band “Pershing’s Own” in Washington, DC. It has been well cared for throughout its life, with no dents or dings and only very light wear and tarnish. The pads are still in great condition and have most of their life left.
My repairman just serviced the horn prior to sale. It was already playing very well, but he regulated the pads to make sure everything is sealing properly and oiled the mechanism. The sax plays great in all registers, and playing down to low Bb feels effortless.
A lot of players seek out the SX90 instead of the SX90R because of this model’s straight tone holes. Keilwerth rolled tone holes can sometimes be inconsistently leveled, so even after a horn is serviced, leaks can still be an issue. This one feels great, and with the straight tone hole design, you do not have to worry about uneven rolled tone holes.
