King Super 20 Tenor Saxophone, Full Pearls, Original Lacquer, Fresh Overhaul, Video
1954 338,xxx King Super 20 tenor saxophone with full pearls and approximately 94% original lacquer. This sax just received a top of the line overhaul from Eric Beach, who is one of the best in the business. His key fitting and pad seating is top notch. He uses premium materials including Pisoni Pro pads. The sax is fitted with domed metal rivetless resonators.
The series II Super 20s have an improved LH pinky cluster, which is a nice ergonomic improvement. The sterling silver double socket neck has never been pulled down and is original to the horn and has a matching serial number. Eric performed a modest amount of dentwork mainly around the bow to remove some dings. A low C keyguard foot has been resoldered, as well as a LH pinky finger post on the back side of the horn.
The sax comes in a brand new/never used Bam Cabine Panther case, which in my opinion is the best case on the market. The Panther finish is a new one for Bam, and it holds up very well from regular use. I personally use the same exact model for my tenor.
This Super 20 has a great combination of power and finesse. The core of the sound is dark and lush, yet you can still belt out a ton of sound when you push it. It's a great sounding horn that is hard for me to put down.
