Low A Selmer Mark VI Baritone Saxophone, Original Lacquer
Selmer Mark VI baritone saxophone, s/n 262243. This is keyed to low A which was an option for the Mark VI model before that range was standardized with later models. For many players, the extra range is a must. In concert pitch the low A sounds as low C, making it an important note to have for a wide range of music.
The pads are sealing well and are in great shape overall. I can play easily through the entire range down to low A. There is a dent in the upper crook but otherwise is in good physical shape overall. There's been some dentwork performed mainly on the bow, but it's honestly not bad for a bari that's nearly 50 years old.
This sax has its original lacquer. There's quite a bit of tarnish. This horn came from a coastal climate, which tends to wear through lacquer more quickly. The case is original to the horn and is in good condition.
