Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, Near Mint, Fresh Overhaul, Video
232,xxx Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone with approximately 99% original lacquer. Here's a near mint late Mark VI tenor that has had one owner. The overall condition is exceptional. There appears to have been one ding taken out of the bow, and the neck strap ring has been resoldered, possibly because the original ring got worn out. Otherwise, the horn is very clean. The bell flare is perfect and has never been bent. The neck is original to the horn and has never been pulled down. The case is also original to the horn.
My repairman just performed a full mechanical overhaul on the horn prior to sale, so the pads, corks and felts are all new. This is a great looking and playing Mark VI that has a really nice intensity but with some great tonal balance. It's not an exceptionally bright Mark VI, but it can still be pushed when you give it some air. Many pros gravitate to later Mark VI tenors like this one, and this example is easy to understand why. These horns can be exceptional players, and they offer a great value for what they deliver.
