Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, s/n 211,xxx, Original Lacquer, Near Mint
211,xxx Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone. Here is a beautifully preserved, one owner horn. The lacquer is original and approximately 99% remainins. Other than some scratching on the body tube and tarnish around the body to bow ring, the horn is nearly pristine. The neck is original to the horn and has never been pulled down. The sax comes in its original tripack case, also in excellent condition.
The sax came to me with all original pads. My tech reset all pads and ended up changing out 4 of them. The rest of the pads are in great condition and still have some life left in them.
This is a very fun, engaging Mark VI to play. It has tremendous projection and is slightly on the bright side. The response and sound is even from top to bottom.
Here are a few videos which are taken with different mouthpiece setups to show what the horn is capable of. The first is from a vintage HR Brilhart refaced to a 7*. The second is taken with a metal Link 8 and the last is on a vintage HR Berg Larsen.
