Selmer Series II Soprano Saxophone, Fresh Overhaul
Selmer Series II soprano saxophone with a fresh overhaul. This sax arrived with its original pads and we decided to give it a full overhaul, with all new pads, corks and felts. It now feels as good as the day it left the factory. Plus, the sax comes in a top of the line Bam Signature case, which normally sells for $275. I use the same case for my soprano, and find it to be the best combination of superior cushioning, storage and compact design.
The most notable difference between the Series III and II is the fact that this sax is constructed without a removable neck. This is a significant sonic upgrade in my opinion. There is a directness to the sound and response that I don't think is possible with the Series III. This is an incredible sax that captures the intensity and tonal characteristics of a Mark VI soprano, but with modern ergonomics and a neck strap ring that are lacking on the earlier model.
