Vintage Brilhart Great Neck Ebolin tenor saxophone mouthpiece with a Sakshama reface measuring .097". For those of you who are unfamiliar with Sakshama's refacing work, I urge you to check him out! He is absolutely world class at what he does, and I would not hesitate to recommend his services if you need anything done to your vintage mouthpiece!
This mouthpiece was recently acquired along with an early 1960's Mark VI tenor sax. It sadly had a cracked shank, so I sent it off to Sakshama for repair and a reface and he worked his usual magic on it. Take a close look at the shank, and you'll see that the crack stops before the table. He glued a ring on the base of the shank, so the crack has stopped spreading and it will never be an issue again. In addition to making a great, modern facing, he shaped the baffle and opened up the chamber slightly. Hopefully the close-up pics show his work on the mouthpiece. The end result is fabulous. It's a touch on the darker side, but it can still cut through and take on air wonderfully.
