Yamaha Custom YSS-82ZR, Silver Plated, Near Mint
Yamaha Custom YSS-82ZRS soprano saxophone, s/n 4032. This horn was previously owned by a professional saxophonist based in Texas. It's in excellent original condition and is nearly 100% perfect. If I'm being very picky, I can see a very light scratch or two around the neck strap ring, but that's it. The pads are still mint and they seal very well, making the horn easy to play in all registers.
The 82ZR is an update to Yamaha's famous 62R. It is a single body saxophone without a removable neck. This is a huge sonic upgrade in my opinion. There is a directness to the sound and response that I don't think is possible with sopranos which have removable necks. The keywork on the 82ZR feels more solid than the 62ZR, and the sound is remarkably even and refined. The silver plating gives the saxophone some extra warmth.
