Purple Logo Yamaha YBS-62, Just Serviced, Excellent Condition

Purple logo Yamaha YBS-62 baritone saxophone, s/n 3633. I have played dozens of Yamaha 62 baritone saxophones over the years, and the purple logo horns are my favorite. There's a lyricism and sweetness to the tone that sets them apart from more modern 62's. The sound is also more focused and centered, which makes the horn easy to project without pushing.

Like all Yamaha baritones, the low A key placement is ideal. It allows the thumb to pivot without having to lift up and away from the octave key, which makes the low end feel much more fluid than on most other baritones.

This sax is in near mint condition and looks barely played. My repairman just serviced the horn, and the pads are in excellent condition and sealing well. The sax comes in its original case. The horn was played professionally at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles in August, and is ready to gig.
