Yanagisawa S-6 soprano saxophone, Just Serviced
Yanagisawa S-6 soprano saxophone. This model was designed to copy the Selmer Mark VI, and many of the playing characteristics and ergonomics are identical. I have played many Mark VI sopranos and this horn plays much like a Mark VI. The sound is full and beautiful, and getting around on it is a breeze.
My repairman just performed a full service on the sax, replacing a couple of pads and key corks. He adjusted the pads, so they seal very well, and the full range speaks clearly with ease. The sax comes in the original case which is in good condition.
Although this sax is branded as a Vito, Yanagisawa manufactured this horn in Japan. It's considered a stencil, as the horn design is the famous S-6. This sax is a fabulous bargain for those who want a Mark VI but are on a tighter budget.
